In a surprising crossover event that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The narrative features a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine cult.
The questline focuses on "peculiar trials and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a striking moment showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Content
Players who finish the quest will acquire an special katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
